Today’s post contains my own personal advice, so take it or leave it as you wish.

I have kept a personal, handwritten journal for most of my life, and I have found the benefits to be enormous.  Two nights ago, I unearthed several of my journals on different topics, proceeding to read them to my sweet husband (who, by the way, listened with the patience of a saint!).  What I re-discovered is the beauty of journal writing and its importance.  I would like to share that with you.

Reasons to Keep a Handwritten Journal of Your Own:

  • You will have a record of specific thoughts and events you might otherwise have forgotten.
  • You will help preserve the beautiful art of handwriting.
  • You will find an enormous therapeutic benefit from writing down your thoughts and experiences.
  • You will have an heirloom to pass down to your children.
  • You can use your journal as a personal reflection tool for your life’s challenges.

Today is the day for you to start your own journal.  It is a gift you can give yourself right now.
